The inter-communal logistics center takes place along the railway tracks, on an industrial scale context. The concept of establishment is based on a compact and flexible building, freeing up the east portion of the plot, anticipating the development of the future Malley district.

In an apparent simplicity, the project takes the form of a flat roof under which gather the various activities associated with the operation of the Logistics Centre. Including a waste center for professionals, a compaction and waste transshipment center, an inter-sorting center for recyclable waste, a garage for heavyweight trucks, offices and a dining hall, the building works subtly with all this machinery. While disparate in its assignments, the composition of the envelope brings harmonizes. The structure is wrapped in a translucent skin, which brings a certain lightness, and through different colors dramatizes the guts of the building.

On the constructive plan, a punctual structure frees large areas to handle more than 65,000 tons of annual waste collected by the City of Lausanne. The organization on two floors allows, through a ramp, the access of trucks to the top floor for the dumping of waste, and thus offers a gain of surface on ground level.

Alongside concrete, the steel structure reveals a more spacious volume and thus gives a subtle reading of the building. The three levels of administrative program pierces the envelope on the first floor and becomes the organizational element of the center for the encounter between human scale and industrial scale.
