At only 300 meters of the lake and overlooking Bellerive’s public beach, the project enjoys an exceptional situation. Parallel to the Chemin de Primerose, the site is in the surroundings of the prestigious Vaudoise Assurances building, designed by the architect Jean Tschumi in the late 50’s, dominating a neighborhood of opulent villas.

As the west Switzerland headquarters of AXA Winterthur, the project is articulated around the creation of a base body and two different wings resulting from an identical architectural concept. The image of the buildings is characterized by their volumes, alignments, openings and the large southern glass surface punctuated by balconies that run the entire length of the structure.

Built on a large foundation base defining the ground floor, the structure of the buildings is based on a column-slab system. Similar to Tschumi’s building described above, they are constructed so as the ground floor stays free of obstacles, offering a beautiful transparency and visuel aperture towards the lake and the Alps. As a training/learning center, the base is characterised by serveral openings in the roof that allows natural light to enter right in the heart of the building.
