Eco-Neighborhood of Eikenott is located on the outskirts of the metropolitan area of Gland, along the highway. The perimeter of the site is determined by a partial assignment plan (PPP), within which are divided four plots of equivalent size. The development of each of these plots was assigned to a different architect office. The vision of the whole neighborhood combines densification and environmental quality for the benefit of Minergie eco-label.
Closed to the north by a volume containing a common parking, this arrangement can significantly reduce noise from the highway and offers an area of sustainable transport. The “green carpet” whose continuity is perceived throughout the whole Eikenott, on which fit together the different volumes, is the unifying element of the whole neighborhood. Buildings densify in height to free the green space at ground level. Although developed by different architectural firms, they seek consistency in their volume and their interaction. Therefore, the limits established by the different plots remain invisible.
The plot developed by the office comprises 4 buildings with a total of 121 apartments. Each building is developed according to a so-called provision “crown” around the central circulation core unfolds the crown of own services to each apartment, then come the interior living spaces and external extensions. Careful study of typologies and orientation allows to give priority to the smaller flats and to adapt a building to seniors.
