Nestled in the heart of a clearing, this old mill enjoys a privileged situation. If integration into the site appears to be obvious, it is thanks to a major landscaping work. Of simple but contemporary appearance, the external work stresses the beauty of the place and preserves the existing habitat.

The intervention can be read on two levels, one outside and one inside. The external project is relatively discrete retaining the original volumetrics and recovers terrace covered but open spaces on the terrace.

The inner intervention is most important. The whole mill was redesigned and renovated according to the client’s will to associate contemporary and old in a setting that sometimes reveals either dream or theater. The details are carefully worked and the intervention was made by reusing old materials and techniques known as “old-style.” The craftsmen’s skills are fully expressed in the worked of the building materials. Rooms are worked as suites each with a dedicated bathroom space. Playing with the theme of color, each room has its own atmosphere, its own character. More contemporary, the basement that housed technical facilities, is in turn expanded and now serves as a space for relaxation and recreation.
