Strategically located on the outskirts of Lausanne, the sports complex is placed at a major transportation crossroads and marks the entrance to the city in an iconographic way. The entire public program is organized in a single circular building, its uniqueness and formal simplicity asserts its public character and its landmark trait in the urban landscape.

Taking advantage of the momentum generated by the curves, the project includes pedestrian bridges crossing the roads that connect the site to the m1 and the lake. The opening up of Prés-de-Vidy is answered by the strong axis created in the direction of Lake Geneva.
The new district with over 100,000 m2 of SBP, is set up to be an energy and environmental example. Minergie is the minimum standard for all buildings, as for public buildings, the requirements will rise to Minergie-P and Minergie-P-ECO.

A circular geometry shape encompasses the entire public program including among others a football stadium of 13,000 seats, an Olympic pool and a P+R of 1,200 spaces. The formal simplicity of this precise and monolithic architecture allows immediate identification of the sports center on the site. A large window in the south wall of the building offers an opening from inside at bleacher level to the lake and the surrounding panorama.
