Located in a residential area, the project connects the two existing schools near the site. The project is defined as an assembly of two volumes, one containing school activities, the other sports. The regular block and half-buried gymnastics hall leans on the hill. The upper volume of the school is based on the axis of the street. This volumetric articulation provides a clear organization of the site. The layout of the gym defines the inner playground while it also benefits of a direct access to the outdoor sports fields.
The ground plan is designed to accommodate the incoming flows from the street and channel them into the playground. The upper floor plan is defined by two Ls between which the extremities open to the flow. The expansion of the hallway accommodates the main distribution at the heart of the project. This common rest area opens on a double height to the south, in order to benefit from the wider Alpine panorama which this orientation offers. The whole project is treated monolithically. The openings are cut into the neutral ground of the block. These breakthroughs highlight the various warm colors of the interior.
